He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Nilson and LaVell Pitcher Nilson; and his siblings, Frank (Nancy), Doug (Dalice), Iris Hawks (Bob), Irene, Keith (Sharon) and Reid.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie Meyer Nilson; and his children, Traci Nilson Macbeth (Warner), Bret Nilson (Tawny), Jody Nilson (Jennifer), Kelli Pabst (Mike) and Cortney Goerig (Sara). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
