He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Victor and Vera Wilson Olson; his daughter Amy; and his siblings, Jack and Kathryn.

He is survived by: his wife Joy Dial; and his children, Pauli Young (Steve), Jonna Anderson (Tony), Darin Olson (Judy) and Ryan Olson (Heather). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
