He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Smith and Jeanette L. Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Donetta Rushton; and his children, Jamie Smith, William J. Smith, Jr. (Leslie R. Smith) and Rodney Smith (Jared Benson). He is also survived by four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
