With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stanley Keith Petersen in Salt Lake City, Utah, who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Hughes Petersen and Jesse Richard Petersen; his son Edward Mark; and his brothers, Richard Hughes and Larry F. Petersen.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cook; his daughter Sara Elizabeth Thomas (Matthew); his grandchildren, Bridger Lowe, Alta Grace, Sage Elizabeth and Aspen Snow Thomas; and his brother Don R. Petersen.

In lieu of flowers the family invites donations to the Intermountain Healthcare Research and Medical Foundation.
