It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Ernest Cook of Salt Lake City, Utah, who passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest William Cook and Clara Blackhurst; and his former wife Clea Searle. He is survived by: his wife Mary Nielsen; his brother Gerald Cook (Shirley); and his children, Susan Pinegar (Kevin), Janalee Leavitt (Kent), Sharon Williams (Richard) and Richard William Cook (Kelly). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.

“We loved to visit Richard and Mary in Park City. Mary is a life long friend. Richard was a great blessing to her and we were so delighted that they found each other and were so happy together. I remember their home filled with his safari trophy animals and also the beautiful grand piano he gave to Mary. Their mission to Mongolia was a legacy, as was their life of service to the Lord. Our prayers and hearts are with Mary and their family at this time of loss. Clair and Marian Workman”
