With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Carl Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah, born in Pontiac, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 22, 2025 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his former wife Delores Jean Smith; his parents, Frank Smith and June Smith; his children, Shaun Smith and Leilani Smith; and his granddaughter Christina June.
He is survived by: his sister Linda Hansen; his wife Miriam Smith; his daughters, Rebecca Brown (Nathan) and Renee Deuel (Jeff); his foster daughter Debbie Devine (Bruce); and his grandchildren, Trevor, Robert Dean, Rachel, Abigail, Joshua, Jack, Shelby and Jordan. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (13768 S 6400 W, Riverton, UT 84096). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Stake Center (13768 S 6400 W, Riverton, UT 84096). A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (13768 S 6400 W, Riverton, UT 84096).
