She was predeceased by: her husband Howard McKean Newson; and her son David McKean Newson. She is survived by: her parents, Charles R. Hatt and Opal C. Hatt; and her children, Howard "Huck" McKean Newson, Shauna Newson Hoopiiaina Aiken and Annette Newson Leach. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
