He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Sims McDonald; his daughter Joyce McDonald Brubaker; his parents, Alice Margaret Frederickson and Joseph Arthur Mortensen; his stepfather Charles Grover Brubaker; and his sister Margaret Brubaker James.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Sorensen (late Myron), Mac (Teena), Scott (Rebecca), Calvin (Tani), Carol Cramer (Gary) and Alice Carlisle (late Alan); and his siblings, Charles Brubaker and Gladys Tidwell. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
