He was predeceased by: his parents, Jutta Viktoria Peine and Hermann August Peine; his uncle Hans-Otto Deppe; his aunt Ursula Specht; his parents-in-law, Lon and Helen Merkley; and his brother-in-law Christopher Merkley.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Merkley Peine; his children, Emily Haley, Jordan Peine (Kimberly), Jonathan Peine, Alina Peine (Joseph Diaz) and Michael Peine (Alexandra); his grandchildren, Oliver Haley, Charles Haley, London Peine, Anderson Peine, Vivian Peine and Anya Diaz; his aunt Doris Deppe-Lindenthaler; his cousins, Andre Deppe (Sachiko), Eveline Machleid (Oliver), Julia Wiese (Mattias), Ronja Titz (Benjamin) and Jens Deppe (Tabea); and his siblings-in-law, Kay Merkley, Parry Merkley (Carolyn), Ruth Fish, Allyson Merkley and Nania Merkley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
