She was predeceased by: her parents, Leona Ramsey Swan and George Whitmer Swan; and her siblings, Eugene Swan (Lois), Gordon Swan (Barbara), Carol Walker and Virginia Conley (Phillip).
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Dean Madsen; her children, Helen, Dean, Paris, France, Elisabeth Lee (Casey Crellin) of Midway, Utah, Catherine Dawn (Ray Carter) of Modesto, Cynthia Kay (Rory Reid) of Berkeley and Peter Madsen (Elizabeth Klunker) of Park City, Utah; and her brother Herbert Frank Swan (Colleen). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Dale Chapel (739 S Ashton Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84106).
Dean contracted Alzheimer's disease during that time and Helen became his dedicated caregiver.
