It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garth Owen Van Tassell (Salt Lake City, Utah), who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Tassell and Minnie Van Tassell (Sabey); his wife Mary LaVon Nyberg; his children, Elaine Schriver (Tony), Bradley and Connie; his son-in-law Anthony Schriver; and his grandchildren, Allyson Jensen, Kelcie Dawn Adams and Danny Van Tassell.
He is survived by: his brother Wayne; and his sons, Michael Lee (Debra) of Cottonwood Heights, Gary Lynn (Norma) of Corpus Christi and Todd Owen of St. George.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092).
