He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodolfo Bernal and Dominga Gonzalez Bernal; his siblings, Yolanda Gonzales Aguirre, Armando Bernal (Weddo) and Ralph Bernal; and his grandson Issac Ismael Bernal.
He is survived by: his children, Agapito Bonilla Bernal, Gabriel Bernal, Alicia Marisol Bernal Medellin, Luis Angel Bernal, John Coleman and Matthew Coleman; and his siblings, Antonio Gonzales, Juan Bernal, Gerardo Bernal, Leticia Bernal Gomez and Rudy Bernal. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
