He was predeceased by: his parents, James Peter Downward and LeVerne Isabel Kenner Downward; his brothers, Russel Frank Downward and Donald Alan Downward; and his sister-in-law Connie.
He is survived by: his children, Heidi Seidel (Downward), Terry D. Downward, James R. Downward, Richard E. "Rabbit" Downward and Christena M. Downward; and his brother Roger Lee Downward. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092).
