Charles Lee Byrne Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Lee Byrne (Saint George, Utah), who passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Charles Lee Byrne to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Byrne and Clara Louise Kemp Byrne; his former wife Mary Ellen; his sister Audrey Spangenberg; and his niece Valerie Snoke.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hilbrands Byrne; his children, Marlene Shirley (Kerry), Cheryl Cowan of Alexandria, VA, Dale Byrne (Margaret) and Wayne Byrne (Kathleen); his niece Karen Chadwick; and his nephew Michael Smith. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Riverside National Cemetery (22495 Van Buren Boulevard, March Air Reserve Base, CA 92518). In May of 2020 (during the Covid Pandemic), Charles moved to Washington, Utah, where he was cared for with unwavering dedication by wife Shirley, his daughters Cheryl Cowan and Marlene Shirley, along with Kerry Shirley, Marlene's husband.
