With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Hughes of Roy, Utah, born in Columbus, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 26, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Lamar and Mildred Lamar; her siblings, Howard Lamar and Madge Johnson Eloise Crossley; and her grandson Daniel Beus.
She is survived by: her brother Byron (Bud); and her children, Curtis Hughes (LeAnne), Camille Niesen (Jay), Leslie Beus (Brian), Elaine (Laney Karician), Barbara Chapman (Bryce) and Kalyn Garver (Stace).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roy 1st Ward (5850 S 2575 W, Roy, UT 84067). A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Roy City Cemetery (5200 S 2300 W, Roy, UT 84067).
