He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Chapman and Melba McAfee Chapman; his wife Ranae Stevenson; his daughter Nila Asay; his sister Beva Maxwell; and his grandson Darius Asay.
He is survived by: his children, Roger Chapman (Ann), Cedarview, Teri Kirkpatrick (Glen) and Alan Chapman (Amy); and his sisters, Joann Kohler, Alene Watson and Karen Crook. He is also survived by his daughter, Nila's, children.
