She was predeceased by: her parents, Max Ewald Beckert and Elisabeth Marie Schmutzler; her spouse Walter Karl Fassmann; and her siblings, Johanne, Charlotte, Marianne and Hellmut.

She is survived by: her children, Karen (Jared), Ellen, Judy (Dave) and Glenn (Heidi); and her grandchildren, Kristy (Jeff), Cindy (Darrin), Brandon (Megan), Allison (Stephen), Nicholas, Adam, Andrew (Sarah), Wesley (Maren), Elise (Isaac), Hannah (Jacob), Jesse (Bryce) and Mitch (Aja). She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
