He was predeceased by: his parents, Nestor Edmundo Velez Tejada and Baltazara Chozo Chaponan; and his parents-in-law, Jorge and Olga Bendezu. He is survived by: his sisters, Gloria Aurora and Norma Nila; his nieces and nephews, Raymondo Giovanni, Ursula Paola, Giampiero Moroni and Bruno Emanuelle; his grandchildren, Orion Athen, Chrysalis Rae, Hinckley James, Edison Kale, Phoenix Taylor, Aslan Titus, Justice Edmund Huntington, Santiago Mauricio and Leo Michael Velez; his pet Scout; his wife Eloisa (Carmen Bendezu); his children, Ligia Huntington (Alex), Gioconda Velez, Tiffany Velez and Jose Mauricio Velez (Autumn); his sisters, Norma Velez and Gloria Scattolon; and his nieces and nephews, Giovanni Scattolon, Ursula Morrison, Giampiero Scattolon and Bruno Scattolon.
