He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Dickson and Alonzo Hamblin Freeman; his former wife Shirley; his brothers, Gail Freeman and Arlin Freeman; and also Becky Sue Griffin.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Freeman; his stepchildren, Dixie Glover (Mike), Gene Freeman (Kristy), Kevin Freeman (Debbie), Paula Terry (Scott), Jay Griffin (Mei-Dai), David Griffin (Valorie), Sherri Elder (John) and Kevin Griffin (Sherry); his siblings, LaRita Vargas, Carmen Freeman, Flora Anthony, LaDean Freeman and Shauna Cullimore; and his sister-in-law Karalynn Freeman. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
