She was predeceased by: her parents, G. Vernon Peterson and Virginia Erickson Peterson; her husband John Hales; and her siblings, George V. Peterson Jr., Robert E. Peterson and Marial Sorensen.
She is survived by: her children, Bryant Gray Christensen (Staci), Holly Jorgensen (Ron), Matthew Jeff Christensen (Sharie), Christine Nielson (Anne Childs) and Kathy; her grandchildren, Gray James Christensen, Jeffrey Bryant Christensen, Aaron Dane Jorgensen, Carson Joel Jorgensen, Alyssa Mae Jorgensen, Jordan Jeff Christensen, Gavin Christensen and Josie Lyn Christensen; and her siblings, Elaine Wayland, James H. Peterson, Donald S. Peterson and William G. Peterson.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a Kathy Christensen Memorial Tree Fund to be managed by Richfield City. Donations will be used to plant and care for the Richfield trees Kathy loved.
