She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene McEwen and Florence Judd McEwen; her son James; her son-in-law Jacob VandeMyle; and her siblings, Eugene McEwen, Marjorie Conder, Douglas McEwen, Stanley McEwen and Robert McEwen.
She is survived by: her former husband Franklin Ashurst; her children, Allen Ashurst (Jill), Murray, Larry Ashurst and Jennifer VandeMyle; her daughter-in-law Jayne Ashurst; and her brother Sheldon McEwen. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
