He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Duke and Marian Vincent Peay Mecham; his daughter Marian; his grandson Derek Potter; his son-in-law Craig Lyon; and his siblings, Noreen Clark, Mignon Clark, Fred and Ralph.
He is survived by: his child Payson; his wife Verla; and his children, Bryan (Trina) of Mount Pleasant, Lecia Lyon of Mount Pleasant, Michael of Spanish Fork, Daniel (Jana) of Lehi, Darren (Miranda) of Mona and Amy Jones (Brad) of West Valley. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
