He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Horton and Arthea Horton (Whittaker); and his daughter Heather Horton. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Travis Horton (Kareena), Ryan Horton (Ashley), Doug Horton (Emily) and Holly Hansen (Danny); and his sisters, Sandra Fraleigh and Terry Heaton (Kenneth).

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund—or simply take your kids or grandkids fishing.
