He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard "Pat" Patton and Clara Annie Blake Patton; and his former wives, Kaye Patton and Chree Patton. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Baird Patton of Provo; and his children, Robyn MacNair, Holly O'Farrell (Conor), Scott Patton (Andrea), Stacy Walker, Nicole Patton and Ricky Patton (Wendy). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 16 honorary grandchildren, and 3 honorary great-grandchildren.
