He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Max McMurtrey and Lavenda Fox McMurtrey; his wife Victoria McMurtrey; and his siblings, Kathy, Linda and Bob.
He is survived by: his siblings, Betty Dodds and Nyle Mcmurtrey; his children, Bubba (Monica), Dorie (Russell), Johnny (Tracy) and Jason (Christine); and his pets, Allie and Boots. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
