Kay Morris Loveless Obituary
Kay Morris Loveless, beloved mother, friend, grandmother, and teacher of Provo, Utah, passed away on January 6, 2023, of natural causes, surrounded by those she loved at age 73.
Kay was born on January 31, 1949, to Hal and Elizabeth Morris in Ogden, Utah. Due to her father's job of being a geologist, her family lived in Utah, Washington D.C., and California. After Kay graduated from Woodside High School in 1967, she went on to study at Brigham Young University where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in education.
After graduating, she started her first job for the Provo School District as a teacher, where she continued to work for the next 38 years. Kay spent the majority of that time at Rock Canyon Elementary as the Special Education Coordinator. Teaching students was her passion, especially to those who needed extra attention. Because of her patient and positive nature, she helped students thrive. Even after retiring, Kay continued to volunteer at the school tutoring students. She was selfless and always put others first, making sure everyone felt loved and taken care of. Kay was an avid reader, Book of Mormon enthusiast and enjoyed playing board and card games with her family. She loved all animals. Through the years she had a large variety of pets, ranging from alligators and other reptiles to many domesticated pets, including a talking parrot named George. Most recently, she loved her dog Mya.
Kay was good to the core; her soft, sweet voice will forever be admired by those who knew her. She loved serving others and did her best to help everyone she could. Her church membership was important, as she served in various callings. She especially enjoyed her time serving as a temple worker. She loved the gospel and exemplified its teachings in all she did. She will be missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Hal T. and Elizabeth Morris, and her former husband, Earl C. Loveless. She is survived by her brothers, Dan and Mark Morris; children: Jason (Regina), Darryl, Elicia, Sean (Nicole); and 9 grandchildren she adored, dearly: Tyson, Sarina, Braeden, and Jaron Loveless, Alyssa Gardner, Ava Jensen, Dot, Milo, and Lolly Loveless.
