He was predeceased by: his wife Ewan Harbrecht Mitton; his sister Anna Lee Dransfield; and his parents, Samuel Mitton and Johann Mitton. He is survived by: his brother Reid (Sanna); and his children, Elizabeth Larsen (Shirl), David L. Mitton (Andrea), John P. Mitton (Nancy) and Esther Phelts (Charles). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
