He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Emmet Welch and Ardella Bell Welch; his brother Norman Welch; his children, Darin Welch and Andrea "Pearl" Clifford; and his grandson Jonah Thomas Welch.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Pearl Anderson Welch; and his children, Shamayne Cram (Dana), Michael Welch (Rusti), Melissa Thurber (Tony), Jon Welch and Jeffery Welch (Jessica).
