He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabel Marquez and Jose A. Marquez; his son Virgil Lee Marquez, Jr.; his parents-in-law, Ted and Alice Silkwood; his siblings, Alice Martinez, Paul Marquez and Max Aragon; his nieces and nephews, Anna Martinez, Boni Heaps, Nathan Navarro and Jeff Navarro; and his brother-in-law Gary Gallegos.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Marquez; his children, Darin Hawkinson, Greg Hawkinson (Martin Farrell) and Dana Radka (Salena Jolley); his siblings, Margie Sanchez, Arvella Gallegos and Michael Marquez (Teri); and his grandchildren, Cassandra Hawkinson (Stacey), Ashley Radka (Amber Terry) and Amanda Ramirez. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
