He was predeceased by: his uncle Pablo Vega; his cousin Angel Roberto Nevarez Vega; and his father Salvador Mendoza Varela. He is survived by: his wife Lyndsie Riddle-Burgess; his mother Belen Vega Zambrano; and his siblings, Octavio Mendoza, Carlos Mendoza and Aide Flores. He is also survived by his parents, siblings, nephews, and nieces.
Gustavo was a proud member of the E Clampus Vitus in Helper (a non-profit fraternal organization and children's charity).
