He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Riter and Elora Maxfield Ekker; his son Evan Ekker; his son-in-law Richard Vigil; and his siblings, James and Sadie.
He is survived by: his wife Karla Ekker; his children, Desiree Nielson (Terry), Julaine Vigil, Robin Belgard (Farster), Grand Junction, Shane Ekker (Tanya) and Tina O'Neil; and his siblings, Gary Ekker (Maedell), Don Ekker (Judy), Phyllis Blackburn, Emery, Jay Ekker (Joanne), Green River and Kerry Ekker (Tina). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.
