She was predeceased by: her parents, Rose Madrigal and James "Jim" Madrigal; her siblings, Ernie Madrigal (Dorothy) and Veda Madrigal; and her grandsons, Jessie James Barfield and James Lee Kouris.

She is survived by: her children, John A Barfield Jr., James Barfield (Carla), Gene Barfield (Glenna), Tina Madrigal (Eric), Elisa Garcia (Isaac) and Miguel Villar Jr.; and her siblings, James Madrigal (Betty), Rufino "Rufie" Madrigal (Sophie) and Teresa Ritchie. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
