He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Swan and Deloris Swan (Robinson); his wife Diana Jeanne Derr; his siblings, Charlotte, Allen and John; and his grandson Paul Swan.

He is survived by: his children, Debra Crockett (Ron) of Mount Pleasant, Utah, David (Cathy) of Katy, Texas, Jared (Nolita) of Round Rock, Texas and Benjamin (Carolyn) of Petersburg.
