He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Philo Freeland Alvey (Phil) and Erma Alvey (Wood); his former wife Carol Sue Brereton; his children, Gregory Phil and Melanie Alvey; his friend Clark Spencer; his daughters, Shanna Cushing and Melonie Alvey; his brother Ron Alvey (Jennie Ruth); and his half-sister Phyllis McInelly (Alvey). He was also cherished by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
