He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Pleasant and Marie Drexel Green Bristow; and his wife Sandy. He is survived by: his children, Christi Petrucka (Jim), Catherine Bristow, Dana Ruster and Michael Bristow (Angie). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Dean requested that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Tunnel to Towers charities.
