She was predeceased by: her parents, Verl Ashton Brereton and Grace Darlene Hirst; her son Gregory Phil Alvey; and her siblings, Colleen Thomas, Wayne Brereton, Jim Brereton, Kayle Brereton and Jack Brereton.

She is survived by: her brother Steven Crippen (Marcia). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
