He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clark Thompson and Fern Davis Thompson; his sister Elaine Openshaw; his daughter Jacki Thompson; and his granddaughter Zariah Etienne.

He is survived by: his children, Jaycee Thompson, Nick Thompson and Dani Thompson; and his siblings, Sandra Bowen (Gary), Brent Thompson (Rose Marie), David Thompson (Janice) and Susan Costa (Dale). He is also survived by grandchildren.
