He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. and Claudia Thomasson Compton; his brother Claude Thomasson Compton; and his wives, Judy and Suzi.
He is survived by: his sister Bettie Compton; his children, Charles Lacey and Katharine "Kate" Compton Abruzzi; his stepchildren, Stacy Forrester, Stefanie Benson and Brian Holman; and also, Zoom Vu Compton and Brad Abruzzi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
