He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Tate and Hazel Tate. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Love McVea Tate; his children, Aaron Tate (Maureen), April Tate-McKinnie (Erik), Adam Tate, Paul Smith (Carolin) and Brian Smith; and his siblings, Linda Olson, Kent Tate and Wendy Tate. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
