He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Audrey Lewis; his brother-in-law Mark I. Payne; and his former wife Verna M. Tucker. He is survived by: his father Gerald White Ashworth; his children, KayeLyn Ashworth and Douglass G. Ashworth (Brianna); his siblings, James Ashworth (Cheryl) and Connie Williams (Lynn); his grandsons, Randy P. Ashworth (Caila), Timothy J. Ashworth, Zachary V. Ashworth (Ashtyn) and Preston D. Ashworth (Katie); and his great grandchildren, Timber L. Ashworth, Bentley M. Ashworth, Kycen V. Ashworth and Tukson S. Ashworth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
