He was predeceased by: his parents, Theo L. Wakefield and Elizabeth Bischoff; his brother Richard Warren; his children, Wendy Jo (Alisa) and Daniel Allen; and his grandson Aaron James.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Stark; his sisters, Mary Beth Williams, Susan Winters (Gary) and Ellen Grundvig; his children, Todd (Elizabeth), Amy Draper and Andy; and also Paul. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
