He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Rush Sumpter and Clarice Horton. He is survived by: his children, Richelle Andersen (Kent) of Orem, Utah, Rob Sumpter (Tori) of Lehi, Utah, Carlene Sumpter of Orem, Utah, Cherlynn Imes (Smokey) of Orem, Utah and Steve Sumpter (Karen) of Goodyear, Arizona.; his wife Carol Meservy; and his siblings, Wynston Sumpter and Nell Gurr (Bill). He is also survived by his five children, his "Lucky Thirteen" grandchildren, one great-granddaughter.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cherry Hill 5th Ward (135 E 2000 S St, Orem, UT 84058).
