With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathleen Diederich of Orem, Utah, who passed away on February 17, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Thomas and Helen Thomas (Call); her brothers, Richard (Dickie) and Lynn; and her in-laws, Wilford Diederich, Anina Diederich and Claudia Diederich.

She is survived by: her husband Rudi; her children, Tiffini Taggart (Jeff), Troy Diederich (Kristin), Traci Magleby and Tami Blair; her grandchildren, Tieler (Taylor), Ellie (Branden), Joshua (Grace), Ethan, Carson (Megan), Caden, Logan, McCall, Addison, Ainsley, Brody and Jensen; her great grandchildren, Jace and Collin; her siblings, Rosemary Halladay (Steven), Ron (Cindy) and Don Thomas (Patty); and her in-laws, Hugo Diederich, Margarete Diamond (Kay) and Elfriede Friend (Jack).

“Dear Rudi, It is with a saddened heart that I send my condolences and sympathy for the loss of your Kathy. I had lost touch with her over the years due to serving missions and just recently attended the funeral of Illame Barker. I knew Kathy knew Illmae and was able to talk to a few of the sisters to see if they knew Kathy Diederich. One sister told me she knew Kathy and that she had passed. I was shocked and so sad through the whole funeral. I loved Kathy! Marilyn Weed Abney”

We were blessed to know you and Kathy when you were serving as an engineer at the Nauvoo temple when Don Ray and I arrived in April of 2014. Kathy added so much joy to all of our activities, and her gift of yummy desserts and shared recipes have been a delightful part of our memories. Don passed on Jan.2022 from AML (leukemia) less than 6 weeks from his diagnosis. Your loss is great-God bless. Sincerely, Sharon Nelson”
