She was also cherished by Papa Mike's children and grandchildren.

“In loving memory of Ila Peterson, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Ila is such a special woman. She lost Lee when she was very young, She has always inspired me. She lost two precious daughter, Karen and Susan, because of the RH factor. She returned to school to get a teaching degree while raising a beautiful family. After retiring from teaching, she went on an LDS mission to Thailand. She is a beautiful person inside and out.”
