He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert G. Dayton and Dortha Duke Dayton; his stepmother Gloria; his son Lynn; and his siblings, Dixie Beatty and Ralph Dayton.
He is survived by: his wife Zona; his children, Cliff (Jeannie) and Deanna Ashman (Todd); his daughter-in-law Marty Dayton Farr; his son Roger (Jennefer); and his brother Steve Dayton. He is also survived by his three sons served missions and his daughter and 12 grand daughters.
