He was predeceased by: his parents, Alverda May Kearl and Roma Orlando Saltzgiver; his wife Carol; and his son-in-law Robert Brockbank. He is survived by: his children, Michael, Steven Saltzgiver (Vickie), Micheal Saltzgiver (Marianne), Susan Brockbank (Robert) and Lynda Glade (Gary); and his brother Earl Saltzgiver. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
