She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Shanks and Dorothy Helen Sanders; her husband Rodney Hans Despain; and her brother Barry Sanders. She is survived by: her children, Stanley Matthew Despain (Carla "Tuzie"), Lisa Koren Despain, Kirsten Leanne Despain and Robin Lynette Despain (Richard Carson); her grandchildren, Kalin R. Despain (Alonna), Camryn "Rocky" T. Despain, K. Shiori "Boo" Carson and William S. Carson; and her sisters, Patty Sanders, Jeanette Haggenmiller and Laurel Wach.
Viewing was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Nelson Family Mortuary (4780 N University Ave, Provo, UT 84604). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Eastlawn Memorial (4800 N 650 E St, Provo, UT 84604). A reception was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lakeview 8th Ward Chapel (155 W 1600 S, Orem, UT 84058).
