He was predeceased by: his parents, Yorda Ostergaard Pitts and Charles Edward Pitts; his children, Kenneth Lee Pitts and Carol Pitts Alessandro; his brother Laval Pitts; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Pitts and Roberta Pitts.

He is survived by: his spouses, Hazel May Brooks and Alice Pitts; his children, Rodger Pitts (Shauna) and Sharron Andrews; his siblings, Donna Bingham, Ralph Pitts, Glenn Pitts, Ted Pitts (Sylvia) and Gary Pitts (Pam); and his sister-in-law Joan Pitts.
