She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Steven Thomas and Penelope Thomas; her siblings, Julie, Tama, Anna, Sarah, Shonna, Cole and Brynne; her children, Tacy, Collin, Kaitlin and Connor; her grandchildren, Arya and Koda; her child Carmen; and her husband Steven Grant Black Jr..
Later, her knowledge and experience in the medical field was vital in caring for her parents when they both came down with bad cases of COVID-19, and in understanding and managing her own ongoing health problems.
