Melinda left this world on January 5, 2025 at the age of 72, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fernando Mercado-Hernandez and Edith Martinez; and her brothers, Jose M. Hernandez and Fernando Hernandez. She is survived by: her children, Matthew Oquendo, Lucie Aiello and Martha Aiello; and her siblings, Fernando Mercado Jr., Robert A. Martinez, Selinda Mercado and Sarita Hernandez.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to cover funeral expenses.
